Mehmoona Ali has worked as a legal secretary / assistant for more than 30 years. She has worked in small law firms as well as large downtown firms and corporations, and has experience in the following areas of law, Family Law, Wills & Estates, Immigration, Personal Injury, Company Records, Civil, and WCB.
Mehmoona commenced employment with Lehal Law in January of 1996. She currently is the Legal Assistant, Receptionist and Office Manager. Her enthusiasm and management skills allow her to fulfill all her duties in a professional and timely manner. She is very friendly and personable and enjoys meeting and greeting people, always taking the time to listen to her clients’ concerns.
In addition, Mehmoona is very involved and well known within her Muslim community. She has been a longstanding member of the British Columbia Muslim Association (BCMA), including being a member in various committees and Director positions under the BCMA. Currently, she is the Chair of the Women’s Board of her local branch. She is also a part of the core team/volunteer with the Muslim Food Bank and Community Services and has enjoyed assisting the community in need, since 2010. Mehmoona also played a very active role in assisting to establish NISA Homes, the first Muslim Women’s Transition Home in BC. She is also a part of the organizing team with NISA Helpline, including being a previous call taker for this crisis line.
Aside from her work and social commitments, Mehmoona is busy with her husband of 33 years and is proud of her achievement in raising her two adult children in a Canadian Society, while still maintaining their Islamic beliefs and values. She stays active by walking, hot yoga and enjoying her time with family. She is also now a proud grandmother of two.
