Fatal Accident Claims Life of 16 Year old Amarpreet Sivia

Amarpeet Sivia was tragically killed on September 18, 2013. Amarpreet was a grade 12 student who would have graduated in June 2014.
She had a bright future ahead of her and the loss of her life has been devastating for her family and friends. Lehal Law is representing the Sivia family in ensuring that this tragedy does not repeat itself and that the community and our children are safe.

After the death of their daughter, the Sivia family became aware of the existing law in B.C., created in 1846, which only values the life of income earners. Under this law, when our children, the elderly and the disabled die due to the reckless actions of others, they are considered worthless. The Sivia family is raising awareness about this archaic law and urging people to go to the link below to make a statement that will be directed to the Premier’s office, asking for the government to change this law and implement a Wrongful Death Act.
